Premium Brands, Expert Installation, and Mobile & In-Shop Repairs

Monson Truck & Trailer Repair offers a full range of tire sales and service for heavy‐duty diesel trucks and trailers. Whether you need new steer, drive, or trailer tires—or emergency roadside replacements—our ASE-certified tire technicians deliver quality products, precise installation, and fast turnaround to keep you rolling safely and efficiently.

The Foundation of Safe, Efficient Operation

Tires are the only point of contact between your truck and the road. Proper tread depth, correct inflation, and balanced assemblies directly impact:

  • Fuel Efficiency: Under- or over-inflated tires increase rolling resistance and fuel burn.
  • Vehicle Stability & Handling: Worn or uneven tires compromise cornering, braking, and load control.
  • Tire Longevity: Regular maintenance prevents uneven wear and extends tread life.
  • Safety & Compliance: DOT regulations require minimum tread depth and proper tire condition.

At Monson, we carry a broad inventory of premium brands and sizes—including steer (22.5″–24.5″), drive (22.5″–24.5″), and trailer (22.5″, 24.5″, 19.5″) tires—to meet every application. From highway haul to regional delivery, our goal is to match you with the ideal tire and keep you moving with minimal downtime.

How Our Tire Service Works

Contact & Assessment

  • Call (563) 322-8308 or book online to schedule service. Provide tire size, vehicle type (tractor, trailer), and any known damage.
  • For emergencies, text “MONSON TIRE” with your location for immediate dispatch.

Tire Selection & Quote

  • Technicians recommend the best tire(s) based on application, tread pattern, and load ratings.
  • Receive a transparent, itemized quote covering tire cost, mounting, balancing, and applicable taxes.

Installation or Repair

  • In-Shop: Drop off your truck; technicians remove old tires, mount new ones, balance assemblies, and inspect valve stems.
  • Mobile Service: Our mobile unit arrives, removes the flat or worn tire, installs a replacement from inventory, and balances the assembly before you resume driving.

Final Inspection & Road Test

  • Inspect bead seal, valve alignment, and torque lug nuts to proper spec (e.g., 450–500 ft-lbs).
  • For multi-axle trucks, check dual spacing clearance and draft alignment.
  • Recommend next rotation interval and show “tread life expectancy” based on current load, alignment, and driving conditions.

Key Benefits of Partnering with Monson for Tires

Reduced Downtime

On-site mobile service and rapid in-shop turnarounds get you back on the road—often within one hour for a single tire replacement.

Optimized Fuel Efficiency

Properly balanced and inflated tires can improve MPG by up to 2%. We hand-check each assembly and use nitrogen fill where requested to minimize pressure loss.

Enhanced Safety & Compliance

We ensure all tires meet or exceed DOT tread depth requirements (4/32″ steer, 2/32″ drive/trailer) and verify load-range appropriateness.

Extended Tire Life

Regular rotations, alignments, and balancing eliminate irregular wear, extending tire life by 20% or more.

Budget-Friendly Options

From premium new tires to quality recaps, we recommend the right option to fit your budget without compromising safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I check tire pressure on a heavy‐duty truck?

We recommend checking cold tire pressure weekly. Steer tires typically run 100–110 PSI; drive and trailer run 100–120 PSI depending on load.

Can you repair sidewall damage?

Sidewall punctures or cuts are not repairable per DOT regulations. We recommend replacing any tire with sidewall damage.

Do you offer same‐day tire replacement for long‐haul trucks?

Yes. If we have your size in stock, most in-shop replacements are completed within 45–60 minutes. Mobile replacements typically take 60–75 minutes, depending on travel.

What tread depth is considered unsafe?

Federal regulations require at least 4/32″ on steer tires and 2/32″ on drive/trailer tires. Monson technicians measure tread life and advise on replacement when approaching these limits.

Should I use nitrogen or compressed air in my tires?

Nitrogen holds pressure more consistently, reducing pressure loss and improving fuel economy. It also reduces moisture buildup in the tire, extending the life of inner components. We offer nitrogen fill at $20 per tire.
